Battery Indicator = Charged

We said we’d be gone a couple weeks.  It’s been a month and we’re leaving on Thursday for a vacation.  Oh nuts!  We’d better put something up before y’all figure we’ve given up the ghost (at least bloggingly).

We're back!

Molly:Weeee’re BaAAAack Peeps!!

Mike: That’s right! We needed some time to get some perspective on what we’re doing here at Mike and Molly’s House in internetland but we’re back with a sackful of stuff to share with you guys.

We both really like what we’ve created and love the feedback we keep getting from the community of like minded people that we’ve discovered through blogging and going out into the world as “Mike and Molly”.  It truly has changed our lives for the better (much better… a heartfelt thanks everyone).  We’re also realizing that full time blogging as an income plan is probably not all that realistic.

Pistol & Dumpling (in unison): Told you so!

Mike & Molly: Dang it!

We need to make money but not all that much.  Right now Molly is working part time as an owner’s rep on the construction of a handful of houses.  It’s paying well and covering a good chunk of our expenses.  Mike is ramping up to start a CNC business with his friend Rick.  If all goes well it should be online and earning money by the end of the summer.   These are both fairly well aligned with our interests but do demand quite a bit of our attention.

We’re still committed to running this site but we do see that we are going to have to scale back the number of posts a week that we produce for the time being.

Molly: Shift happens people!

That said, it’s also a chance for us to experiment with new formats and ideas.  No reason to let things get stale.

Molly (in her mangled Australian accent): Movies!  I want to make more Movies!!

Here’s just some of the stuff you can look forward to :

Cool old tractor

Mike’s selling a tractor…

CNC Machine

to raise money to start a CNC business.

Josh the forest gardener holding the teensie chicken

Meat chickens got processed…

Fresh Chicken for sale

which means Molly’s in the chicken business.

back garden

The garden is poppin!

So are the bugs!

garlic basket

Fourth of July means garlic harvest time.

organic shingles on the yurt

The yurt is finally getting the cool roof it deserves.

beehive essential oils

We combined a couple of the beehives.

giant compost pile

Yet another ginormous compost pile was built.

That’s just a teaser, there’s so more that I can’t even remember other than that we did tons of stuff and took bunches of pictures the past month.  So keep checking in for the somewhat erratic, ever evolving, quasi-informative, always entertaining antics known as life at Mike and Molly’s House.

Excuse my ignorance but I don’t know what the CNC business is about.  Can you explain? Thanks!

The CNC business is cutting stuff out with a router controlled by a computer like the snaptastic room divider.  We’re also going to be able to cut stuff out of metal with a computer controlled plasma machine.  We’ll be offering our services to designers, cabinetmakers, metalworkers architects, etc.
